Mena is a native of Chile but has lived in the Washington, DC area most of her life and currently resides in McLean, VA. She is an avid photographer and enjoys shooting nature, city life, portraits and weddings. However, it was as her role as a mother of a young dancer that she found her passion for photographing dance.
Mena has had the privilege of working with several prominent dance companies, including The Washington Ballet, Bad Boys of Ballet, Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, and Ballet West. She has photographed renowned dancers such as Michaela DePrince, Brooklyn Mack, Clifton Brown, Adrienne Canterna and Rasta Thomas. Her work has taken her from the Kennedy Center to children's dance studio performances, and has resulted in her photographs being featured in advertisements for Gaynor Minden, Capezio and numerous performance promotions.
